Set up like exam day

The real sitting is 60 questions in 2 hours with no scheduled break, at a desk in a PSI test centre. Practise the full length that way at least once.

• •You bring nothing into the room. The proctor hands you the testing supplement, numbered scratch paper, and a pen. Personal belongings go into storage outside.
• •The supplement is FAA-CT-8080-2H, and Legend 1 — the sectional chart legend — is the page that matters. Download it free from faa.gov and practise with it open beside you.
• •A calculator is allowed: aviation-oriented or plain arithmetic. Its memory must be erasable, and the proctor clears it in front of you before and after. Nothing with non-erasable memory, and no instruction booklet for it.
• •Scales, straightedges, protractors, plotters and a mechanical E6B are allowed. A phone app is not. Dictionaries are banned outright.
• •From 27 October 2026 the test embeds current sectional images in the question itself rather than pointing at a numbered supplement figure. Learn to read any chart, not the eight figures the old sample set used.
• •Sign in first if you want the result saved to your account. Signed out, it stays on this device.
• •Before you start, skim the cheat sheet so you know which limits you are expected to have memorised.
